I’m the guy who will unintentionally halt all conversation with an odd comment, or say something that will put the room on the floor laughing, all the while being genuinely confused why everyone is suddenly laughing. I like katsup on my grilled cheese and the taste of fried bologna with peanut butter sandwiches; riding in an elevator is a magical experience; looking both ways when at the end of a grocery lane to prevent crashes seems obvious; I regularly read books from the 18th century; I’m a Centrist; I can sew; I don’t like sports, but enjoy working out; I’m really good at picking up accents. I’ve come to know and to understand what it is to be odd. I’m a bit of a character, unlike the image that the 80’s suburban family seemed to be presenting throughout my youth. One day, I decided life was more pleasant when I validated that I’m the guy who is not always understood. That was the day I stopped fighting that I’m eccentric and started enjoying the odd life, when it happens. Now I know that it’s my role to be the quirky fellow.
